Career Opportunities
Working at UNHCR is diverse and highly challenging. It requires committed, responsive and flexible staff with a high degree of motivation and professional skills. Positions range from legal protection officers, programme or logistics specialists to communication, external relations and human resources experts.
UNHCR’s international staff is expected to be mobile and work in different locations during their carrier, in some cases, in some of the world’s most difficult and remote spots.
Recruitment for entry level international professional positions is through our International Professional Roster (IPR). The Junior Professional Officer (JPO) programme is open to young university graduates and qualified professionals sponsored by their government participating in the JPO scheme.
There are also national posts open to qualified local staff in countries where we operate. Upon our programme needs, we also open consultant positions for a particular task and period.
