World Refugee Day - 20 June
Every year, UNHCR organizes a number of activities around the world for World Refugee Day to highlight the plight of refugees and to advocate on their behalf for the help they need.
UNHCR country offices in Central Europe in cooperation with local governments, NGOs, corporate partners and the academia also prepare a wide variety of events ranging from cultural evening, public screening to photo exhibition as well as carry out awareness-raising and outreach activities with the help of the local and international media.
20 June is a day on which we think about the world’s refugees and extend our encouragement, support and respect to them. UNHCR believes that even one person forced to flee persecution or war is simply one too many. One refugee without hope is one too many.
